Keana Baylis is the owner of Little Village Home Child Care LLC. Her passion for teaching started at a young age being inspired by her teacher Lillian Bell. She started off as a young girl playing school with her teddy bears and a desk her mom got her. She then began tutoring her young cousins that her Auntie Boo (Lela Johnson) invested in her little job by giving her .25. Being an entrepreneur is not knew to Keana. She had her tutoring service at the age of 12. She had her maid service on Saturday’s charging $5 per room. At the young age of 17 she was hosting Mary Kay parties at places such as Trunk Parties with her mom. She started doing nails out her mom basement while selling Avon at the age 18.
Keana holds an Associate in Early Childhood, an Associate in Early Childhood Administration, a Director’s Credential, and she chooses to renew her CDA every 3 years. She also holds an Associate in Business Administration. Keana has been working in the early childhood field since August 2007. She started off in Family Child Care, then a center, and ended at a ministry before choosing to becoming a Family Child Care Advocate opening LVHCC. She has worked as a teacher assistant, lead teacher, child care administrator, and director.
Keana spends time outside of LVHCC, consulting child care providers like herself to build and establish quality childcare at her own consulting firm Know To Grow Consulting. She also host her own podcast show back at home in Chicago, called SheEO Podcast. When work is not an option she is being upermom to her four children Kean (17), Keandra (15), Keandre (13) and Keandriana (12). She also is a grandma to her grandpup Shitzu King.
